Hey Robert,
Thanks for the comment. it was some exciting to catch that first salmon! I know I am very lucky to have caught one. This summer is the first time I have fished them in a long time. I will make sure I go a handful of times each year now. it is great fun and a completely different experience from fishing the other fish I go after.

Good to see you writing this blog and I look forward to reading it as I'm sure it will be full of excellent tips and stories from your fishing adventures. I have yet to catch my first salmon but then again I only started fishing them about 1 yr ago and have not been up to the salmon fishing areas yet this year. Summer is almost gone and I have not had time to escape up there. I favour the Renous near McGraw Brook (the old campground) as it is easy to get to and easy to fish. Keep up the good work and the stories coming. TTYL

Hey, I wanted to be the guy that showed you were to get that first salmon grilse. :)

Congrats Jamie, I still remember my first salmon, I would say it changed my life and is a big part of why I moved to Moncton, New Brunswick in the first place.

I came to visit family but stayed for the fishing. The family's okay, but the salmon rock.

Hey Jamie,

Nice read amigo! Congrats on your first Salmon brother!!
Where did you guys get too?
I've caught Salmon on the Little Southwest, Main river and the Renous. Some fun......guess that's why they call them the king of Gamefish! I have caught fish on the bombers but mostly on butterflys.

Can't wait to go out with you sometime! nice site btw!
