My Name is James Trenholm. I live in Riverview, New Brunswick. I am 41 years old and love fishing. I spend most of my time fishing trout, smallmouth bass, chain pickerel, and salmon.
I am married with twin girls. I am a vice-principal at a local elementary school. In the winter time I spend most of my spare time in the hockey rinks getting yelled at as I am a level 5 referee.

Great reads on your site James. I’ve been following it more and more lately. The fly site from Texas that you mentioned sent me the flies I ordered. I thought they were pretty good and compared well with some of the ones I had in my fly box. I got traditional Miramichi Flies: Rusty Rat, Blue Charm, Green Highlander, Thunder & Lightning, and a few Wooly Buggers….
I see we’ve got a bit in common… I’ve been a VP at Albert Street School and Bliss Carman Middle School in Fredericton for the past four years… Hope you get out fishing this fall! Tight lines.
Scott
Thanks for the comment Scott. I enjoy writing the blog and am glad some people are reading it. We are almost back to work. I was in for a bit today. Even though it will be weekends I hope to get out a handful more times. I got one of my orders and think the flies look good as well. Hope to try them soon. Good luck with the upcoming school year. Keep in touch.
Hey cool! Another NB fishing blogger…there isn’t too many of us! Nice Canaan River smallies, btw!!
Tight lines!

Hey Mat,
Thanks for stopping by. I hope to post more as I am starting to get out fishing more.
Jamie. I think it is time to update your profile. 40??
Ha…..thanks for keeping count….:)
Stumbled upon your blog while trolling the NB Fishing forums (yes, pun intended). Appreciate your writing style (and willingness to share your fishing holes!) Am a fellow educator based out of Fredericton and looking forward to reading your future posts! Plan on buying a red senko at my earliest opportunity now… Based on your French Lake post I gave it a try this afternoon. Same conditions, very windy and water very high but all we caught was one large chub with one pickerel chasing my Rapala out of the water but not actually taking it.
Hello Carm. Thanks for posting. I am not sure where on French Lake you tried. Even with the high water you should have gotten into some pickerel, although the high water conditions have certainly affected the fishing this year.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to your comments.
